Kelly Moran has a B.F.A. in painting from Louisiana Tech University. She studied ceramics at the University of Houston Graduate program, participated in the artist collective “Little Egypt Enterprises” and was associate director of “Texas Collaborative”, a place where national and international artist collaborated to produce their own prints. Her artistic practice draws on contemporary events, personal life, and intuition to compose her well crafted, multi layered universal images. Kelly is an avid collector of ephemera from the 1800’s to the 1970’s, getting constant inspiration from their time-specific and timeless color combinations. They are mined by Kelly to find the treasured images from another time that speak volumes about our culture, where we are now and then. The content of her images can be straightforward or not.
