I will be showing 30 pieces at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center March 9-April 17th. Opening reception March 28th The title of the show is “Wallpaper”. Vintage wallpaper has inspired me to make some pieces using actual vintage wallpaper with linocut images collaged on top. The wallpaper conjures up images for some people that lived in that era. The aesthetic of the wallpaper is such a different mindset from present day décor. I have taken it out of the home decor context and use them as a backdrop for different occasions. The wallpaper has inspired me to make my own wallpaper backdrops with different dramatized events as the focal point. The events are related to health, environment, Dreams, evolution. I also have some pieces in the show that don’t relate to the wallpaper, however have elements carried over from the wall paper. The show will be a variety of my work that ebb and flow from one idea to the next.
